Key Features & Benefits
Long-Term Protection
Trithor offers at least 50 years of termite protection, safeguarding your property for decades.
Advanced Solution
Uniquely combines physical barriers with chemical deterrents (deltamethrin) for enhanced prevention.
Effective & Less Intrusive
A reliable, less intrusive defence option compared to typical chemical barrier methods.
Environmentally Friendly
Installed during construction with minimal soil disturbance. GreenTag Certified.
Installation of Trithor Termite Management System
Trithor integrates seamlessly with all stages of construction. Below are the key installation areas and requirements.
1. Penetrations
Installation around all service penetrations through the slab to prevent termite entry via these vulnerable points.
Clear area around pipes, no obstructions like steel reinforcement or lagging, ensuring collars can be fitted properly.
Collars are fitted with cable ties, positioned entirely within the slab to ensure they are neither visible above the slab post-pour nor placed too low beneath the moisture barrier.

2. Perimeter
A continuous barrier installed around the perimeter of the building's slab to prevent termite ingress from the edges.
Clean and smooth concrete slab edge with at least 75mm of exposed concrete, formwork and moisture barriers removed, and all steelwork in place.
Trithor system is fixed to the top of the slab using nails and glue, adjusting the product width based on wall type and ensuring the layout does not interfere with frame locations.
3. Bearers and Joists
Termite protection for the sub-floor area, particularly important in raised buildings with wooden floor structures.
Level base with all brick footings at the correct height and on the same plane, area free of debris, with stumps and brick piers in place.
The system is integrated with the bearers and joists, ensuring seamless incorporation into the building's structure for effective termite protection.

4. Retaining Walls
Protection for retaining walls that may be susceptible to termite infestation, ensuring termites cannot use these structures to bypass perimeter defences.
Walls must be fully waterproofed prior to installation to prevent moisture from compromising the barrier.
Specifics depend on the construction of the retaining wall and chosen termite barrier system, ensuring a tight seal against termite entry.
5. Under Slab Treatments
Barrier installed under the concrete slab, providing a foundational layer of termite protection for the entire building.
Black plastic moisture barrier correctly installed, no reinforcing steel on top of the pads, and smooth, imperfection-free concrete surface.
Ensures a continuous termite barrier beneath the slab, with particular attention to the placement of collars and ensuring no breaches in the moisture barrier.

Builder & Trade Responsibilities
Builders must ensure all trades understand their impact on the termite system.
Brick Layers
Must ensure the termite barrier system is properly integrated into the course of bricks without compromising its integrity. Communication should cover how the barrier interacts with mortar.
Plumbers
Critical to prevent pipe installations from breaching the barrier. Specialized collars must be installed before the slab is poured. Plumbers must NOT disturb these.
Concreters
Slab surface must be clean, smooth, and free of debris, with a minimum of 75mm of exposed concrete above the formwork for perimeter barriers.
Steel Workers
Careful installation around steel columns is required to avoid gaps. The barrier must be fitted correctly around any steel elements embedded in the slab.
Carpenters
Must understand the layout of the barrier, particularly around the slab edge. Frame installation must not disrupt the barrier or penetrate it in a way that compromises effectiveness.

Coordination with Tri4
We can be on site with short notice. If the product is damaged, immediate communication is necessary for repair and recertification to ensure compliance with Australian standards.
Maintenance & Inspection
The Trithor system is designed to be maintenance-free. However, building owners must arrange annual termite inspections to comply with AS 3660.1.
Notify us of any renovations, extensions, or landscaping changes, as a reassessment may be necessary.
